  it was taken by me from the stern magazine from germany issued on august 13th, 1961..... clue: i guess 47 years later she wouldn't attract any angels, would she?.

  How did God do it?

  evolutionists are always called on to explain how a complicated organ like an eye could have come about "by chance" - as if any scientist ever claimed that's what happened.

  but there are shelves of books in your library that will explain the process of natural selection, some are written so simply that a child can grasp the basic concept.

  you don't have to accept it but at least an explanation is offered.

  'If we were given a chance without all the hardship caused by Satan and his demons, we could have done it' ?".

  I asked this question as well. I was told that this challenge could be proved out after Satan is totally destroyed.

  Then it was commented on that even if you made it though Armageddon, the thousand year rein, then the short time of test after the thousand years, you would still die if you disobeyed god. And it would be that time period when these further questions would be answered.

  Honestly…….. what bull sh*t…….

  Is that common to not understand it?

  I think there were and are a lot of JW’s that don’t understand it. Most of these ones would claim that it was ‘too deep’ for them to understand, but would also marvel that the society knew the ‘true meaning’ of the book and would see that as proof that they were the only ones whom god was using……..

  Do you believe that a woman has to be married to be happy?

  i'm just wondering because i was raised to believe that a woman should get married and have children.

  i think that this is an out-dated philosophy and that girls shouldn't be taught that they have to be in a marriage to be complete.

  please, discuss.

  Yeah….That was one of my favourites.

  The other one that I really found a problem with was the interpretation of the 2300 evenings and mornings. This started with a Watchtower article ‘June 1 1938’ and finished on ‘October 8/15 1944’, although there was a convention a few days before then on September 30 and October 1 1944. So the bible got the amount of days slightly wrong because in practice it was only 2293/2286 evenings and mornings….Mmmmmmmm…….

  Pantyhose

  something that has facinated me since i started reading and posting on this board was the whole "women must always wear pantyhose" idea... .

  the thought sometimes crosses my mind as to whether or not there were any differences in the borg from country to country - but the only issue i have come across is the pantyhose one.

  in south africa, to the best of my knowledge, while i was "in", this was not a requirement - we only wore stockings if the weather required it.

  something always bothered me growing up as a witness.

  we were always taught that people in the "world" couldn't possibly be happy because they didn't have the "truth.

  Damn if it's "Wrong", I want to do it! Do any Ex-JWs celebrate holidays?

  Celebrated my first family Christmas this year just gone. I didn’t flinch an eyelid.

  Really pleased for my mum, even though she felt a little guilty…..
